Go Karting is expensive, the cost of components like the chassis, engine kit, and wheels make up a substantial part of the expense that can reach £50,000. 

Becoming a professional racer in whatever category from Formula 1 and right back to professional go karting requires significant investment over the long term. £395-£495 not including the Circuit fees for Saturday practice and Sunday races which are £120 can put many parents off.

”My outlook is and always will be positive,” Comparison can be made about Gary’s efforts for his son and that of Anthony Hamilton, father of  record breaking 7-time  World Champion Lewis Hamilton, who  strived, struggled and worked multiple jobs to fulfill his son’s dream of F1 stardom. 

“Sadly,”, Gary continues, “financial backing takes primary place over talent, it makes my efforts for Knight very daunting and a real struggle.” 

Go-KartTyres can cost £120 and going through the tires is a consequence of pushing the kart to its limit. Entering European competitions, something that can cost up to £50,000 is also critical for an aspiring professional racer.

“ I just love racing and every night I dream of being a formula one driver, driving is the best thing ever. I finished 5th a few races ago despite all the advantages some on the grid have got over. 

My dad tells me I am lucky, and not everyone can race if they want to, I think that's horrible, I couldn't imagine not being able to race, I believe everyone my age, girl or boy, should be given a go-kart, if they try it, they’ll love it, I guarantee”.
